Mos1-mediated Single Copy Insertion

MosSCI, Mos1-mediated single-copy insertion, utilizes the Mos1 transposon to produce a double-stranded break in DNA, generate single copy insertion through homologous recombination repair. Even the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing system provides enhanced processing, MosSCI still remains a good approach for the insertion of large transgenes without affecting the original C.elegans genes.

MosSCI allows us to insert a transgene in single copy at several defined sites allowing gene expression in a broad range of tissues at apparently endogenous level.
